In my doctoral dissertation, I explored the link between ADHD-related attention challenges and engagement in BDSM, pushing back against the shame-filled narratives that label neurodivergent coping strategies as pathology. This work challenges outdated assumptions in both mental health and sexology—and advocates for sexual frameworks that actually work with our brains, not against them.

I didn’t do this research to play it safe, I did it to spark change because we deserve models of sexuality that are inclusive, curious, and built for the reality of our nervous systems, not someone else’s checklist.
